The Amazing Spider-Man 2

With summer around the corner we are going to start getting a ton of action packed movies. A lot of them will be of course superhero movies and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the second one to kick off the start of summer blockbusters.

It picks up right where the last one left off so I suggest watching it before you go see this one. Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is literally on his way out of high school and that seems to be such a small part of the movie, like him going to college, unlike the last set of Spiderman films which emphasis that he was in school. Now in the new Spider-Man series it was just kind of a background noise which made it easy to follow what was going to be coming up soon because all of the other details that were not important were not flooding the screen. Instead we got to see how Peter Parker really becomes Spider-Man, which is more important, then all of his other struggles. We need to see how he transforms into the hero that we love so we can feel his pain and struggles. Not only did they make how he became the hero more important part, they also took the time out for us to get to know each of the villains, and why they became that way. As many stories say a Villain is not born that way they are made and Spider-Man took on that concept and showed us how Harry (Dane DeHann) became the Green Goblin and how Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) became Electro. I liked how they did this much better then the past superhero movies where they just kind of give you half of a story for each of the villains. It made the characters in all much more relatable and you can understand where they were coming from.

Overall this is the best Spider-Man yet. Not only were the characters well rounded but also the writing was better and they had even given that fun wit which we love in the comics about Peter to his onscreen character. Instead of being meek and mild he had wit and sarcasm, which is what made him appealing in the first place. It is not very often that we get the sequel, which is much better, then, the first movie. I would strongly suggest this movie for your summer entertainment.
