Armania Contuines to Amaze on the set of Paranoia

As I was browsing through Vogue’s website, as I normally do, I happened upon to come upon an article stating that Giorgio Armani worked on the set design, as well as a few clothing pieces, for the new film Paranoia starring Liam armanicasa1Hemsworth.  When I read this all I could think was “no wonder I kept raving to everyone how the movie just looked good!” Not “looked good” like someone would refer to a plot or story line in a film that they’re interested in watching (even though I am) but it visually looked appealing.

Honestly I am not surprised Armani was given the chance to design a set, pulling from the Armani Casa line (home furnishings), working directly with the set designer and costume department. Hell, after Tom Ford directed and designed A Single Man, I think fashion designers should all be in charge of film set design and costuming.  Ford did such an amazing job with his film starring Colin Firth; it was just beautiful and artistic. I fell in love with the classic 60’s world he created the moment the film

began. I mean, seriously, let’s all appreciate Ford’s work for a moment:

That is definitely one of my favorite films not only because the plot is interesting, but because the wonderful work of Tom Ford fashion designs. It truly shines through as the entire film, which looks like a spread in Vogue.  If Armani set for Paranoia is anything similar to Ford’s set design, we are all in for a real treat. I personally cannot wait to see what Armani came up with for its design because not only am I a fan of his work, but I just like the way fashion designers in general view the world. If you know anyone who is an artist of sorts, whether they are a designer or not, then you know that they tend to view the world different from everyone else. They see the beauty in simple things and tend to be able to express their views creatively and innovatively. I have a feeling Armani Casa pieces will provide a believable set design, while still allowing room for the designer’s artistic view to shine through.  I am so excited for this film; I hope this too excels so we can see more fashion designers working on films in the future.
