Davey Suicide New Album “World Wide Suicide”

12x12

The Sophomore album from Davey Suicide is out now and it is the things you want to hear from a second album. Unlike many counter parts to the second album, there was not a lost vision of I'm awesome and you will like this album because I made its. Instead there was a cohesive tone to the album, the main concept seemed to be made up of love songs like “ The Hole is Where the Heart is”, “Imperfect” and “Only Human” but the foil songs to the album of rebellion and thinking, out side of the box is of course there and a theme to the band itself.

The only thing that seemed to come through with the songs is a growth in the person that is writing the lyrics. This is not a bad thing, if it were the same songs as the first album we would be bored as a fan base, half of making an album is seeing the progression that a person makes within their art and this has been done so. It still has the sounds and feel that a fan wants from the album but it has a different over all tone, much like She Wants Revenge has done with their past albums, it only add the the success and the ability to write more then what we are expecting.

Aside from the overall themes of the songs, there was a cohesion to which each song was placed on the album which is vital to a successful album. Aside from the placement of each song, the over all music was on point and the mix was perfect. The people who helped put the music together did a great job with what they were doing. It didn't seem like there was a band member left out, it sounded and felt like this was a group of people who had worked hard together on a project. Sometimes you can hear in songs more of a guitar sound or more vocals but this was not the case. Rather it seemed like it was an overall balance of everyone.

The album had a lot of classic sounds that people in the metal/industrial scene love to hear. In fact it even had some sounds reminiscent of other bands like Bjork’s' “Army of Me” which is always a win when it comes to it even if it is something only I hear I still enjoyed it. The only problem I really had with the album was with “Dirty Rotten Filthy Rich” which came to the overly used term of” my kind of bitch”. Really it comes down what is the overall meaning of the context which really it only sets up for a perfect interview question when I go see the band this Friday. Listed below are the tour dates for the band which is on tour with William Control. Darksiders and our friend Combichrist. (if you haven't read our Andy interview hop over there now!)
