For the ten year anniversary of She Wants Revenge self title/debut album Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin had come back together to play the album in its entity for various shows in Southern California. The band member have currently been working on various projects separately but for this monumental moments they have come back together to play once again this phenomenal album. This particular show was played at the Fox Pomona which is a great place to hear such an album, this has to be one of the best venues for sound quality wise which is what you need when you hear them because their sound is always on point and really you can't help but dance while they play because when we go to see She Wants Revenge we go to dance, and listen to the songs that are being played, and not see a show that is full of antics nor would it work for something like this anyways.
Although I have seen them play 4 times in the past 10 years, being able to hear and see the album in its whole makes it a different experience because of how the album is set up to be played. It is a rare moment for any band to play one of their albums in a whole but to see this one is a check off of a list. At first it seemed like there might have been some vocal issues during the first song “Red Flags and Long Nights” Warfield quickly adjusted to how he needed to sound on stage and the rest of the vocals went off without a hitch. Warfield for the rest of the performance danced the way that the rest of us were off stage, only reflecting how much love has gone into this album. For each song it was met by loud cheering and a shit ton of enthusiasms from the crowd. This is of course what everyone wants because it not only adds to their fun but to the band on stage. When “Tear You Apart” came on everyone had of course lost their shit, greeting the song with loud cheers that after ten years it deserves to have. “Tear You Apart” was a n introduction to the band and with the recent re surge of the song from American Horror Story, the excitement that was showed was nothing but authentic happiness. It doesn't matter how many times we see it performance on stage, this song will always be greeted with the utmost happiness that it deserves.
Once the album had played in its full, the band played a few songs from the other albums like “Take the World” and “True Romance”, but aside from those songs we also got to hear some of the new stuff like “Never”, which only proves that although they have been working separately on projects, these men can come together to create a new song that flows cohesively with the old, the sound is still there and it was a pleasure to hear something new from a band that still shows the passion which had got them to the ten year mark of one of the greatest albums. Here's to another ten years of seeing what will come next from this talent bunch.
