Tammy

Melissa McCarthy is on the big screen again and just as amazing as ever in her newest comedy "Tammy". I laughed consistently throughout the film from beginning to end, which is something I haven't done since Bridesmaids. There have been great comedies since then, but not one that has me in stitches the entire film!
With an awesome granddaughter and grandmother duo, McCarthy and Susan Sarandon, on a short-lived road trip, the plot had so much potential for ridiculous twists and turns that it takes full advantage of!
I really enjoy McCarthy's style of acting. She's true to her craft which allows her to perform to the fullest extent, even if that means taking on undesirable roles for the average female actor. She's not afraid to get dirty and look like a slob on screen and she had mastered physical comedy! That willingness to allow self-deprecation is what makes her shine in film and is truly commendable.
With so many crazy antics, foul language fight scenes, and just a touch of heart, "Tammy" is a film I recommend you go see. It's a great summer comedy and one that you will be happy you made time for.
