Welcome to Oblivion

Since I like to ask in my interviews what have you been listening to, I thought I would write about what I have been in love with lately. I found my way over to Zia Record's one day to find that they had How to Destroy Angels CD “Welcome to Oblivion”. I was so excited to find such treasure used I bought it that second. What idiot who left it behind because this is literally one of the greatest pieces of music I have ever listened to. I am a huge Trent Reznor fan and I have seen them perform live which only adds to how amazing they are.

The album flows perfectly. Each song goes one into the next and there is no question as to how it is arranged. Of course their isn't it is Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross working together what more could anyone ask for? What I liked a lot was for the song “Ice Age” it is played with an acoustic guitar and Mariqueen Maandig singing only. It is on of the prettiest things I have ever heard. A mixture of the lyrics and the way the melody goes together just hits something in me were it is gorgeous. It seems so effortless to produce a track like that.

That probably is the best way to describe this album as, effortless. It isn't like a lot of stuff we hear now were they try so hard to make it into the mold of today, what will sell. This album did come out in 2013 so it has been around and it only makes me sad that I now have had the money to purchase something this amazing. I feel like I have been missing out for over two years. The only thing I can do is tell you to listen to it on you tube then go out and buy it if it is amazing to you as well.
